TWO HEARTS ALOFT
TWO HEARTS ALOFT
They rise toward the same space. Error in judgment? Perhaps not. Could it be it is just another moment of sharing and caressing? Dolphins, true to their superior nature, play while maintaining their survival. Dolphins mate for life and revel in companionship. Wild and free, the touching, nurturing displays above and below the wave surfaces are common. The work reflects a regular compositional device in sculpture: the cantilever - the overhanging counterbalance that invites such great interest in the space occu¬pied by subject and the supporting, negative space. The subject, a favorite among our wildlife, draws us in.
